Melbourne celebrates julEYE at Palate 2010
The Eye Foundation’s Melbourne supporters enjoyed an evening of fine food, wine and entertainment at Palate Melbourne on Saturday 17th July. The Melbourne Museum provided a beautiful backdrop against which to celebrate the julEYE campaign, and vital funds were raised. You’ll find all the photos from the night here. Palate’s next stop is the Gold Coast on Friday 6th August - more information and tickets are available here.

Mia’s story
Contrary to popular belief, eye problems are not restricted to the ageing. People of all ages can be affected and there are many conditions that can affect children. The first eight years of a child’s life are critical for eye development. If problems are not picked up during this time, damage and vision loss can be permanent. Parents need to be aware that regular eye checks are just as important to a young child’s overall health and wellbeing as other health checks. When Sydney mum, Fiona, sent her daughter Mia to kindergarten for an eye test provided through the StEPS program, she didn’t imagine how profound the results would be. Read Mia’s story here.
